Living in this new world

Where everything is better

That is what the lies told us

We believed them at the time

 

At first it all seemed rosy

And then things began to change

A few things here and there

Not enough to cause concern

 

Things became a little worse

And people began to notice

Things just carried on like that

The changes became more brazen

 

It became too much too handle anymore

People were at their breaking point

The corruption was in complete control

 

What was once a great place to be

Once filled with hope and happiness

Now lies in ruins and darkness

That flame of hope extinguished
